HOMEMADE APPLE FRITTERS

These homemade apple fritters are a delicious blend of fresh apples, warm spices, and a light vanilla glaze.

Ingredients

COOKED APPLES

  • 2 Gala Apples
  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 tbsp White Sugar
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice
  • tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Cinnamon

BATTER

  • 1 ½ tsp Cinnamon
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Baking Powder
  • ¼ cup White Sugar
  • 1 ½ cup Flour
  • ¾ cup Milk
  • ½ tsp Vanilla
  • ¼ tsp Oil
  • 1 Large Room Temp Egg

GLAZE

  • ½ cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Milk
  • ½ tsp Vanilla

Instructions

  • Wash, peel and dice 2 apples.
  • Add to a pot with 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp white sugar, 1 tsp lemon, 1/8 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Cook for about 8-10 mins on med heat or until soften.
  • In a bowl, add 1 1/2 cup flour, 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp salt, 2 tsp baking powder, and 1/4 cup white sugar. Mix well.
  • Add in 1 large room temp egg, 3/4 cup room temp milk, 1/2 tsp vanilla, 1/4 tsp oil, and your cooked apples.
  • Add large spoonful's of your batter to a pan with enough oil for frying. Fry on med heat for 2-3 mins, flip and then fry another 2 mins. Let cool on a baking rack for at least 10 mins.
  • For your glaze, mix 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 1 tbsp milk, and 1/2 tsp vanilla. 
  • Brush each fritter with the glaze and let set before enjoying.
