Apple crisp is more than a delicious dessert; it’s a celebration of autumn’s wealth. The combination of delicate, spiced apples and crunchy oat and brown sugar topping creates a symphony of sensations that dances across the tongue.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR APPLE CRISP
FILLING
1. Gala Apples
2. Brown Sugar
3. Lime/Lemon
4. Cornstarch
5. Cinnamon
6. Salt
7. White Sugar
CRISP
1. Flour
2. Brown Sugar
3. Baking Powder
4. Salt
5. Cinnamon
6. Unsalted Butter
7. Rolled Oats – You can also use quick cooking oats, which I used in my cherry crisp recipe.
HOW TO MAKE APPLE CRISP
1. Wash and peel 4 apples.
2. Cut the apples into quarters and remove the core.
3. Slice the apples and add to a bowl.
4. Pour the lime juice over the apples.
5. Mix to ensure the apples are fully coated.
6. Add your remaining ingredients.
7. Mix well and set aside.
8. To a bowl, add your dry ingredients and mix well.
9. Add in your melted butter and stir your ingredients until crumbly.
10. Add your filling to a baking dish (the same size as the one I used below), then add your crumb topping on top.
11. Bake at 375°F for 30-35 minutes.
12. Cool for 10 minutes before cutting.
13. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
HOW TO STORE IT
It will last for up to 5 days in the fridge if stored in an airtight container.
