This tuna pasta salad is creamy, flavorful and incredibly easy to make. It is made with cooked pasta, canned tuna, dressing, and veggies.

A can of tuna is so versatile, and I love having it as a kitchen staple. You can use it in this recipe, for tuna salad, tuna casserole or just simply fried with veggies and served with rice. There are so many ways that you can spice it up and create a delicious dish.

This recipe is perfect as a side, but I honestly can eat a bowl just as a main dish. Whatever your preference, this will soon become another favorite to add to your list.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR TUNA PASTA SALAD

1. Canned Tuna

2. Mayo

3. Vinegar

4. Sugar

5. Salt

6. Black Pepper

7. Celery

8. Red Onion

9. Mustard Powder (optional)

10. Garlic Powder

11. Red Pepper

12. Rotini Pasta

13. Water (for boiling)

HOW TO MAKE TUNA PASTA SALAD

1. Bring 5 cups of water with 2 tsp salt to a boil on medium heat.

2. Add in your pasta and cook until al dente, 10 minutes, or according to package instructions.

3. Drain your pasta and rinse under cold water. Add more cold water to cover the pasta and set aside.

4. In a small bowl, add mayo, vinegar, sugar, 3/4 tsp salt, black pepper, mustard powder, and garlic powder to form your dressing. Mix until well combined.

5. Drain your pasta and add it to a large bowl.

6. Drained the canned tuna and add it on top of the pasta. Ensure to flake the pieces for even distribution.

7. Next, add in your diced celery, red onion, red bell pepper, and your dressing. Mix until well combined.

8. Refrigerate for a minimum of 1 hour and enjoy.

VARIATIONS

  • You can opt for green onion instead of red onion.
  • You can replace vinegar with lemon juice.
  • Substitute celery for celery seed if you want the celery flavor without the crunch.
  • Swap Mayo for light mayo for a similar flavor with less calories. You can also opt for Greek yogurt as a healthier option. This will have the same creaminess but will result in a slightly different taste.

HOW TO STORE IT

Store your tuna pasta salad in an airtight container and it will last in the fridge for up to 5 days.
