These sweet and sour pork meatballs are the perfect combination of savory and sweet. Not only are they delicious, but they use simple ingredients, and are ready in less than 30 minutes! They are perfect as an appetizer or a compliment to any main course.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR SWEET AND SOUR PORK MEATBALLS
FOR THE PORK MEATBALLS
1. Ground Pork
2. Minced Garlic
3. Minced Sweet/Yellow Onion
4. Paprika
5. Meat Seasoning
6. Salt
7. Black Pepper
8. Parsley
9. Soy Sauce
FOR THE SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE
1. White Vinegar
2. Ketchup
3. Brown Sugar
4. Pineapple Juice (optional)
5. Soy Sauce
6. Cornstarch
7. Water
HOW TO MAKE THE PORK MEATBALLS
1. Add your ingredients needed for the meatballs to a bowl.
2. Mix until well combined.
3. Cover and leave to marinate for minimum 30 minutes.
4. Portion out 16 meatballs and placed on a lined baking tray.
5. Bake at 400°F for 12 minutes.
6. For the sauce, add your ingredients (excluding the cornstarch and water) to a pot and bring to a simmer.
7. Mix your cornstarch with your water and then add it to the pot.
8. Mix well and simmer until the sauce thickens.
9. Add your meatballs to the sauce and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side or until it has reached an internal temperature of 165°F on a thermometer.
HOW TO STORE SWEET AND SOUR PORK MEATBALLS
Fridge – This dish will keep in the fridge for 3 to 4 days if stored in an airtight container.
